Penza, 24 October 2012. PenzaNews. The economic effect of immunization of the working population of the Penza region in 2011 amounted to 798 million rubles. Such data were announced by the head of epidemiological inspectorate of the regional Service for Consumer Supervision of Russia Mikhail Baev during the committee meeting on organization and implementation of measures to ensure the safety of people, protection of their lives and health, held in the administration of Penza.

“The citizens need to take a responsible approach to vaccination. Due to correct and coherent actions, last winter only 18 cases of influenza were registered,” he said.

In turn, the head of health department of Penza Dmitry Kotsar said that starting from October 24, employees of city and district administration, as well as employees of all departments and agencies in the region would be vaccinated.

“Guest-vaccination” will be organized, which allows not distracting people from their work for long,” he emphasized.

Economic effect of vaccination is the difference between economic damage (daily output, the not-produced share of gross domestic product, loss of profits, sick leave payment, medical expenses) prevented with help of vaccination and the cost of vaccination (cost of the vaccine and vaccination activities, the damage from side effects).
