Opening the forum, Principal of Penza State University Vladimir Volchikhin expressed the hope that after the two-day round table participants will develop proposals for moral education of students.

“Representatives of religious denominations, political and social organizations from different cities of the country came to Penza. I hope that together we can find solutions to the problems of extremism in Russia and share the experience,” he said.

After the ceremonial opening of the Forum everyone could listen to a lecture on the topic of emergence of extremism.

On the afternoon, socially active youth can take part in a forum “Dispute,” and guests of the city are invited to visit the State Lermontov Museum-Reserve “Tarkhany.” Workshops will be held on the second day of the Forum.

According to the chairman of the Penza regional branch of “Association of Lawyers of Russia” Gleb Sintsov, the main objective of the Forum – to attract attention to the problem of extremism in the country – has been already implemented.

“The number of participants who came to Penza from other cities of Russia provides evidence that the issue is a concern for many people. Moreover, foreign students who take part in the Forum have already proposed to make it international,” he said.

Gleb Sintsov also added that following the “Fight Back Extremism” Forum, a book containing suggestions and recommendations to address extremism would be published.

“Printed brochures will be distributed to all the regions of the Russian Federation,” he concluded.
