Russian Ministry of Health approved construction of perinatal center in Penza

Penza, 1 November 2012. PenzaNews. The project of constructing a modern perinatal center in the Penza region was approved by the Ministry of Health. This was stated by the head of the press service of the regional Health Ministry Tatiana Manukhina on Thursday, November 1. “The Penza region can be included in the second phase of the corresponding federal program in the current year,” she noted. According to the agency interlocutor, Penza delegation visited Mordovian perinatal center to study the positive experience.

“Unique in size, technical and medical equipment, the perinatal center was put into operation in 2011. The total area of a six-story building is 34,153 square meters. The center has four clinics and nine stationary departments, clinical diagnostic laboratory, x-ray, physical therapy and transfusion rooms. In the perinatal center over 70 types of medical activities are carried out, including high-tech help in obstetrics and gynecology, neonatology and pediatric surgery,” Tatiana Manukhina explained.

She added that the capabilities and technologies of Mordovian perinatal center would be taken into account when constructing a similar facility in the Penza region.

As reported earlier, the construction of the perinatal center in Penza is planned to be co-financed by the regional and federal budgets as part of the “Concept of Health Development in Russia up to 2020.”
