This was announced by the head of the regional administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Alexander Kasimkin during the regular session of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region of the fifth convocation on Friday, November 23. “Today the level of crime in the Penza region is over 1,5 times lower than the average index in Russia. Our region takes the second place among the regions of the Volga Federal District according to this index, and the 11th place in the country,” he said.

Alexander Kasimkin added that in 2012 the number of crimes in the Penza region decreased by 11%, and for the past 4 years — by almost 2 times.

The head of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia also noted that one of four crimes is committed by a person in a state of intoxication, and every second — by a citizen, who has earlier been convicted.
