Penza, 26 November 2012. PenzaNews. Muslims from Sosnovoborsk village, the Penza region, began fund-raising for a new mosque.

According to the press service of the regional Muslim Board, during the meeting of imams of Sosnovoborsky area Ildar Chapaev unanimously was elected the future mosque’s imam.

“We agreed to apply to the head of the area administration with a request to allocate a plot of land for the construction of the Muslim mosque,” Penza Muslim Board explained.

The department added that at present the population of Sosnovoborsk is about seven thousand people, two thousand of them are Tatars, who are forced to pray in the neighboring villages.
