“Next year, the average monthly wage of Penza school teachers will be increased to the average wage in the region’s economy, and the wage of teachers of preschool educational institutions and further education — to the average in education,” she specified.
However, Elena Stolyarova stressed that even within the same school the difference in the wage amount can be substantial.
“The monthly wage depends on length of service, qualifications, workload, number of students in the class, as well as compensation and incentive payments, which are managed by school communities themselves,” the deputy chairman of the regional government added.
Elena Stolyarova also noted that the Penza region practices state support to the teachers coming to school right after graduation from university.
“For three years at the end of each year, young teachers receive 35 thousand rubles. After this period, the money is not paid, but by this time the teacher may apply for the highest category, which will increase his salary,” she concluded.
