Zarechny, 5 December 2012. PenzaNews. Health care institutions of Zarechny, the Penza region received 1,8 thousand doses of Belgian vaccine against hepatitis A.

According to the manufacturer, one injection is able to create immunity for a period of 10 to 15 years.

As epidemiologist Maria Milova reported, 11 cases of hepatitis A were registered in Zarechny from the beginning of 2012.

“An outbreak like this has not happened for 10 years. The number of people having immunity to the disease is small, and therefore it is necessary to build an artificial immune barrier against this infection,” she clarified.

First of all, it is planned to vaccinate the employees of workshop No.80 of enterprise “Start,” the employees of housing service maintaining water and pumping equipment, as well as kindergarten children and students, reported newspaper “Zarechye.”
