Penza, 5 December 2012. PenzaNews. Reforestation plan 2012, approved by the Russian Forestry, has been 100% accomplished in the Penza region. According to the ministry of forestry, hunting and nature of the region, over 9 million of young trees were planted this year.

“At present, the Penza region forest lands have over 40 nursery gardens with total area of 259,5 hectares. The main cultivated species in the region is the pine. The nursery gardens also have seedlings of larch, ash, chestnut and other trees and shrubs,” the press service explained.

The ministry added that, according to the autumn inventory, 13,961 thousand seedlings are currently growing in the nursery gardens. They will be used for reforestation in spring of 2013.
