Penza, 11 December 2012. PenzaNews. 29,6% of the population of the Penza region, which is 408,051 people were vaccinated against influenza. According to the chief expert of the department of medical care for adult population in the region of the Ministry of Health Galina Rozhkova, within the national vaccination calendar 250 thousand of adult population and 100 thousand children were vaccinated.

“Thus, immunization of adults funded from the federal budget is completed. However, we have additionally received over one thousand doses of vaccine for children, so their vaccination is prolonged until December 15,” she specified.

The agency interlocutor added that within the program “Vaccinal prevention” implemented at the expense of the regional budget, 24,656 people have been vaccinated against influenza, which is 100% of the plan.

“Among them are the wards and staff of social institutions, as well as those at risk, who were not included in the national vaccination calendar,” Galina Rozhkova explained.

She noted that over 33 thousand residents of the Penza region were vaccinated at the means of other funds.

“At present, no cases of influenza are registered in the region, and the vaccination of the population continues, at the expense of employers and municipalities as well. In the past years the vaccination was completed around December 25, so there is still an opportunity to be vaccinated against influenza,” concluded the chief expert of the department of medical care for adult population in the region of the Ministry of Health.
