“I am drafted into the army and left at the assembly point to then go to the ground troops,” the oppositionist wrote in his Twitter microblog after the announcement of the results of the draft board meeting on Tuesday, December 18.

He also added that soldiers would start their trip to the place of service in Yekaterinburg on the upcoming Wednesday, December 19.

Currently Sergey Padalkin is unavailable for comment.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, on Wednesday, December 12, Sergei Padalkin reported that representatives of the military office began looking for him despite the disease that does not allow him to perform military service.

According to the oppositionist, these actions could have been initiated by the deputy chairman of the regional government Valery Savin, who allegedly previously sent a claim to the prosecutor’s office with a request to verify the statements of the regional coordinator of the Left Front Sergei Padalkin about the President of Russia.

In turn, Valery Savin denied this information.

On Thursday, December 13, Sergei Padalkin received summons to appear before the Department of the Military Commissariat of Spassky area for medical examination, but he ignored it.

On Saturday, December 15, the coordinator of the Left Front took part in a rally against economic and social policy of the regional government held by supporters and members of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation within the framework of nationwide protest. On Sunday, December 16, he attended a rally for solving transportation problems in the district of Manchuria in Penza. (http://penzanews.ru/en/politics/52805-2012)
