Resident of Penza region accused for illegal tree felling

Penza, 21 December 2012. PenzaNews. A resident of Pachelmsky area, the Penza region was found guilty of illegal felling and theft of afforestation.

“It was found that in autumn 2012 in the State Owned Institution “Lomovskoe Forestry,” he cut down 16 dead oak, ash, birch, linden and elm trees classified as production forest,” the press service of the Ministry of Forestry, Hunting and natural resources of the region reported in an interview with news agency “PenzaNews.”

The ministry noted that the total amount of stolen wood amounted to 6 cu. meters, and was priced at 3,625 rubles.

“The man was sentenced to 250 hours of compulsory work and compensation in the amount of 17,300 rubles to be paid in favor of the forestry,” the press service added.
