Penza, 25 December 2012. PenzaNews. The governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev announced his intention to personally supervise the process of deprivation of parental rights of those parents who do not perform their duties properly.

“Guardianship authorities, the committee on juvenile affairs and prosecutors, willing to protect the child, sometimes make hasty decisions, and seek deprivation of their mother’s or father’s parental rights. I think this approach is not quite right,” stated the head of the region during the XI Congress of the municipal councilors of the Penza region on Tuesday, December 25.

According to Vasily Bochkarev, before raising a question of parental rights deprivation, quality preventive work should be held within the family by law enforcement officials, representatives of local authorities and social services.

“Only if no significant results are achieved, the case can be brought to the court,” he stressed.

Vasily Bochkarev added that from 1 January 2013 he plans to examine each case connected with parental rights deprivation personally.
