Number of fires decreased by 7% in Penza region

Penza, 26 December 2012. PenzaNews. The number of fires registered in the Penza region during 2012 decreased by 7%. This was announced by the head of the main office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Penza region Sergei Kozlov during a press conference on Wednesday, December 26.
“From 1 January 2012 up to now, 1,408 fires were registered in the Penza region, while during the same period last year there were 1,513 fires,” he commented.
According to Sergei Kozlov, 141 people died in the fire in 2012.
“This index also reduced by 10%, as in 2011, 158 people became victims of fires in the Penza region,” he said.
Sergei Kozlov added that in 2012, 93 people suffered in fires, and the fire-rescue teams saved the lives of 609 residents of the region.
“Last year, 97 victims were injured in the fire, and 400 people were rescued,” said the head of the main office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Penza region.
“In 2012, tangibles for a total amount of 113,614 thousand rubles were saved. While last year, this index was 67,649 thousand rubles,” concluded Sergey Kozlov.
