Nikolai Sarmin: No gross violations registered in Penza during New Year holidays

Penza, 9 January 2013. PenzaNews. Officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region, who were on duty during the New Year holidays, managed to prevent accidents and serious violations of law. This was reported by the deputy police head of the district Ministry of Internal Affairs colonel Nikolai Sarmin during a briefing on Wednesday, January 9.

“513 public events attended by around 73 thousand people were held in the Penza region from December 30, 2012 to January 8, 2013,” he said.
According to Nikolai Sarmin, 182 reports of criminal nature were submitted in Penza region, including 63 theft reports, 12 fraud reports, and 14 robbery reports.
“Moreover, four people died and 32 were injured in the result of 25 car accidents occurred in the region,” police colonel specified.
“Overall, criminal statistics of this year did not change compare to the previous year,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region quoted Nikolai Sarmin.
