Dmitry Kulikov was born in Penza on January 14, 1948.
He finished high school No.1 named after V. Belinsky, then graduated from Penza Polytechnic Institute.
He was a schoolboy when he first came to television in 1958. In high school, he was an anchorman in a weekly information program “On the school wave,” later a correspondent and presenter of the youth program “Parus” (Sail).
In 1971, he joined the editorial board of industrial programs of Penza television. In the following years he worked in all television genres — conducted independent journalistic investigations, filmed sketches, ran live reports and news broadcasts. Dmitry Kulikov was an anchorman of such author programs as “Edges of science and technology progress,” “TV show of efficiency and quality,” “Builder.”
He was the one to come up with an idea of “Channel 9,” with which Penza television has been evolving since 1989.
In different years, Dmitry Kulikov was the chief editor, program director, then the deputy chairman of the Penza State Television and Radio Company. In 2001, under his supervision, the state-run television in Penza was included in a unified system of information broadcasting under the title “News.”
From January 2005 to December 2010, he directed television news broadcasting of Penza “Express,” was the author and presenter of “Events in detail.”
Dmitry Kulikov received numerous letters of commendation and gratitude. In September 2012 he was awarded an order “For merits in development of Penza” for many years of hard work, great contribution to the development of journalism, accurate coverage of social, economic, and cultural life of the local government.
