Penza, 16 January 2013. PenzaNews. According to the press service of the regional Service for Consumer Supervision of Russia, 47 HIV-infected women living in the Penza region gave birth to healthy children in 2012.

“42 mother and child couples received a three-stage chemoprophylaxis. In three cases chemoprophylaxis was not done during pregnancy and childbirth, and in two cases it was done only during labor,” the press service explained.

The service also noted that chemoprophylaxis was done to all the children born from HIV-infected women.
