Over 14,7 thousand children born in Penza region in 2012

Penza, 21 January 2013. PenzaNews. 14,777 children were born in Penza region in 2012, which is 900 children more than in the previous year.

“According to preliminary data, the birth rate increased from 10,1 to 10,8 per one thousand people during 2012. The highest rates are reported in Bessonovsky (13,4 per one thousand people), Gorodishchensky (12,6), Kolyshleysky (12,1), Penzensky (12,0) areas and in Kuznetsk (12,2),” the press service of the regional Ministry of Health and Social Development informed news agency “PenzaNews.”

According to the ministry, the birth rate in Penza rose by 6,9% and amounted to 10,7 per one thousand people.

“The death rate decreased from 15,2 to 14,9 per one thousand people. In 2012, the Penza region lost 560 people less than in 2011. The natural loss of population decreased by 20,6%,” the press service reported.

The ministry noted that the death rate from a number of pathologies decreased, such as cardiovascular diseases, accidents, injuries, cancer, pneumonia, and alcohol poisoning.

“In 2012, 366 people less died in working age than last year. The areas with the death rate of the able-bodied population below the regional rate are Penza, Kuznetsk, Pachelmsky and Kuznetsky areas,” the press service added.
