Penza, 23 January 2013. PenzaNews. The number of young men who refuse to perform military service in the Penza region is growing annually by 3%. This was reported by the military commissar of the region Anatoly Sinelnikov during a round table on the issues of preparing young people for the military service, which was held in the small hall of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region on Wednesday, January 23.

“Over the past three years in the Penza region, the number of people, being registered in the military service office and avoiding the military service, increased from 4,4% to 14%,” he clarified.

According to Anatoly Sinelnikov, in 2009 the number of dodgers amounted to 1,907 people, and as of October 1, 2012 the number increased up to 5,014 people.

“911 dodgers are official residents of Penza,” the commissar underlined.

Anatoly Sinelnikov added that the search of the dodgers is complicated now because the police have basically stopped working in this direction in recent years.

“The law “On the Police” does not list the search for people evading military service as one of their responsibilities, so now this work is being done entirely by our service,” he concluded.
