Mikhail Babich: Penza region teachers’ salary corresponds to average index

Penza, 24 January 2013. PenzaNews. The Penza region is among the seven regions that managed to bring the average salary of teachers of educational institutions to the average index in the economy in 2012. This was announced by the plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich at the first meeting of the committee on monitoring of socio-economic development targets held in Moscow.

“These are the Republic of Bashkortostan, Mordovia, Tatarstan, Udmurtia, the Perm, Penza and Ulyanovsk regions. Here the index amounts to 80–97% and is expected to be achieved in the first quarter of this year,” Mikhail Babich informed the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the envoy, the regions of the Volga Federal District received 75 billion rubles.
“After decree No. 597 came out, additional 6 billion rubles were allocated,” the Kremlin press service quoted Mikhail Babich.
Key indicators of socio-economic development of the country are defined by the decrees of the President of Russia as of May 7, 2012. The documents stated long-term objectives in the economic, demographic and social policy, health, education and science, as well as providing the citizens with affordable housing.
The monitoring committee was established by the Decree of the President of Russia in July 2012.
