Penza, 28 January 2013. PenzaNews. Over 15,300 items, including 13,1 thousand photographs and 2,1 thousand documents, were digitized in the state archive of the Penza region as of early January 2013.
“Last year we transferred over 1,600 documents into an electronic format. The staff of the archive and a third party scanned the materials of agricultural census of 1917,” the representative of the state archive told news agency “PenzaNews.”
The institution noted that all digital copies of archival documents are stored on computer hard drives, DVD and external hard drives.
“In addition, in 2012, we launched the second stage of automated information system “Electronic Archive,” in which the most frequently used unit is “Scientific References.” Work on uploading headlines of inventory cases with the attached scanned images has begun,” added the state archive.
