Two Penza veterans invited to celebrations in honor of 70th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad

Penza, 30 January 2013. PenzaNews. Two Penza veterans of World War II will take part in commemoration ceremonies in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad, which will be held in Moscow and Volgograd.

Vladimir Kerhanadzhev, the chairman of Penza city council of veterans, World War II veteran, a participant of the Battle of Stalingrad received an invitation from the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to attend a commemoration ceremony to be held in Moscow on February 1-2.

The city administrations pointed out that the other veteran of World War II Anatoly Egorov is travelling from Penza to Volgograd to participate in a commemoration ceremony with fireworks, gala parade, and wreath-laying at Mamaev Kurgan on February 2.
