“There have been complaints against the authorities before but with the arrival of Anton Sharonov, indignation of citizens and the public came at its peak. This was caused by ignorant and sometimes even sabotage actions of Anton Sharonov and his excessive rudeness towards residents of Serdobsk and Serdobsky area. The record of the regional core group’s meeting published online clearly demonstrates it. Claims against the leadership of the area coincide with the demands of the protesters,” the press service of the regional committee of the Communist Party told news agency PenzaNews on Monday, February 18.

Several dozen people took part in the protest and opposed deterioration in the quality of work of the Serdobsk administration, spoke out against wrong billing for utility services and optimization of city health facilities held by the authorities.

The protesters also demanded the early resignation of all deputies of the Assembly of Representatives who are members of United Russia party as they lost credibility of Serdobsk area residents. They also demanded to carry out an inspection in heating supply companies for the presence of constituent elements of offence under Art. 159 of the Criminal Code “Fraud” in their activities.

In addition, the protesters offered to optimize the structure of the administration of Serdobsk and Serdobsky area, reduce supply expenditures, with spending spare money on social services, including housing improvements.
