The minister of Labor, Social Protection and Demography of the Penza region Elena Stolyarova outlined priority objectives of the new department she has become the head of. “The main objective of the ministry is to solve the problems of salary payment in the region: starting with raising wages up to getting away from the tax-free shadow earnings,” she clarified at a press conference on Wednesday, February 20.

According to Elena Stolyarova, development of optimal tax system is of great importance when solving these issues.

“Today it has become less profitable for individual entrepreneurs or company managers paying official salary to their employees. Our goal is to develop a mechanism, which would protect the employees and not infringe upon the interests of the businessmen,” the minister said, adding that her department intends to work closely with the trade unions in this direction.

Moreover, among the priorities of the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Demography of the Penza region are issues of supporting large families by employing the parents, encouraging young families to have children, and reducing mortality of working population.
