Penza, 26 February 2013. PenzaNews. 167 km of roads are to be overhauled in the Penza region in 2013. This was announced by the head of the state budgetary institution “Management of construction and road maintenance of the Penza region” Viktor Shoshkin during the parliamentary hearings on the state of roads held in the Legislative Assembly of the region on Tuesday, February 26.

“We have planned a lot of work compared to previous years because in 2012 we renovated 68 km of roads, and in 2011 — only 59 km,” he stressed.

Viktor Shoshkin added that in 2013, not only the roads in the regional centers, but also in eight regional towns are planned to be repaired. Asphalt surface roads will be renovated, and earth roads will be covered with road metal.

According to Viktor Shoshkin, the road construction in village Salovka, Gorodishchensky area is to be financed from the federal budget.

In addition, he noted that every year, 350–400 km of road surface must be repaired in order to maintain all roads in the required state.
