Penza, 4 March 2013. PenzaNews. The actual sickness rate of respiratory viral infections and influenza exceeds the epidemic threshold by 17,2% in Penza. This was reported by the regional Service for Customer Supervision on Monday, March 4.

“13 school classes were put in quarantine in seven schools of the city,” the service explained.

They added that during the past week virological monitoring revealed 30 cases of influenza.

“In the region on the whole the sickness rate of respiratory viral infections and influenza is 65,5% lower than the epidemic threshold, with relatively high incidence rate in Kuznetsk, Nikolsky, Spassky, Lopatinsky, Penza, Sosnovoborsky, Narovchatsky, Bessonovsky, Luninsky, Kondolsky, and Maloserdobinsky areas,” the regional Service for Customer Supervision summed up.
