As the press service of the City Hall told news agency “PenzaNews,” he officially assumed his duties on Tuesday, March 5.

Nikolay Antonov was born in Sursk, Gorodishchensky area, the Penza region on 24 January 1958.

In 1979, he graduated from Penza Polytechnic Institute, majored in mechanical engineering, and then worked at Sursk foundry and mechanical plant.

Since 1984, he had served in the department of state security.

From February 2012 to February 2013, he worked as the deputy chairman of the regional government – the head of the controlling office of the governor of the Penza region.

He was awarded the order “For Military Merit,” medals “For Distinguished Military Service” II and III degree, the order of the FSS of Russia “For Counterintelligence Service” III degree.

He is married, has a son and a daughter.
