Penza, 27 March 2013. PenzaNews. Over 2,5 thousand apartment buildings of the Penza region are covered with optical fiber network of Rosteleсom.

As the press service of Penza branch of JSC “Rosteleсom” told news agency “PenzaNews,” over the past year, the number of homes connected to the network technology FTTB (“fiber to the building”) has doubled.

“The possibility of using modern communication services, including interactive TV, is now available not only to Penza residents, but also those living in the district centers and villages. Thus, the residents of apartment buildings in Belinsky, Chaadaevka, Bashmakovo, Kolyshley, and Sursk are now able to use these services. Moreover, the work on expanding the existing FTTB network was held in the regional centers and cities, such as Kuznetsk, Serdobsk, Kamenka, and Nizhny Lomov,” the company explained.

The press service noted that FTTB technology allows the operator providing a set of high-quality telecommunication services: sip-telephony, the Internet, and interactive television.

According to the director of Penza branch of JSC “Rosteleсom” Lev Dyatlov, FTTB users have access to the most popular modern facilities and services.

“The technology means high-speed Internet access of up to 100 Mbit/s, and interactive TV with up to 190 channels. All these services are available in one package and at very favorable terms,” he stressed.
