Rostelecom provided disabled children distance learning opportunity in Penza region

Penza, 29 March 2013. PenzaNews. JSC Rostelecom provided access to the Internet for 300 children with disabilities living in the Penza region, and their teachers as a part of the program of distance education for people with disabilities.

As the press service of Penza Rostelecom reported to news agency “PenzaNews,” the Internet access for each user, regardless of their place of residence within the Penza region, is without traffic limit around the clock, and at least 1 Mbit/s speed.

“As a part of the government contract, our specialists delivered and installed equipment in the apartments of children participating in the program for the first time. In addition, 96 children and their parents received necessary information on the use of information resources. Thanks to the services rendered, the users have access to the websites and e-mail, have an opportunity of file-sharing. In addition, the malicious content is filtered,” the press service explained.

According to the director of Penza branch of JSC Rostelecom Lev Dyatlov, the specialists took up this project with all seriousness and great care.

“The possibilities of the universal service provider allow children, who due to their health peculiarities cannot learn in school, receive full education without direct contact with teachers at convenient time and at their own pace regardless of their location,” he added.
