Penza governor urged public utility services to stop painting kerbs and lampposts

Penza, 8 April 2013. PenzaNews. The governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev addressed to the representatives of utility services of the region with a demand not to paint kerbs and lampposts.

“Do not whitewash the kerbs. No other country of the world does that. They paint them in yellow color in terms of safety, but do not whitewash. The same goes with the lampposts — they should not be painted, because the workers are not able to climb up because the “climbing spikes” slip,” Vasily Bochkarev said during an operational meeting on Monday, April 8.
Instead, the head of the region demanded that Penza authorities allocated the money for road marking.
“The city must be able to find the funds for decent road marking. This is important for both safety and traffic regulations, and the proper appearance of the driveway in the Penza region,” Vasily Bochkarev summed up.
