The action “For smoking-free areas” organized by the members of public organization “ECA,” the Russian student groups, and the youth government of the region was held in the center of Penza as a part of the so-called “united day of action.” “The united day of action was organized in several cities of Russia in support of the law “On protection of public health from tobacco effects,” one of the innovations of which is a total ban on smoking in public places,” the head of the regional branch of the public ecological organization “ECA” Alina Mozhachkina told news agency “PenzaNews.”

She specified that the activists introduced Penza residents with the basic provisions of the law, presented statistics of mortality from smoking, and then put stickers reading “Smoking-free area” in some public places.
