Penza, 16 April 2013. PenzaNews. The governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev appealed to the residents of the region asking them to support the cultural-historical objects located on the territory of the region, in the project “Russia-10.”
“Today, the Internet project “Russia-10” voting is on all over the country. The Russian geographical society suggests the Russians choosing ten new symbols of the country: they can be both cultural and natural objects. I address to all the residents of the Penza region to support Penza cultural-historical objects! Our native land is rich with monuments of history, archeology, culture, and each of them is unique in its own way,” the head of the region wrote in his blog on Tuesday, April 16.
According to Vasily Bochkarev, the “pearl” of the Penza region is Mikhail Lermontov's memorial estate “Tarhany.”
“Every Penza resident knows the museum of glass and crystal art in Nikolsk, a cave complex in Narovchat, and Troitse-Skanov nunnery, and many other monuments of history and culture. Today, unique modern objects are constructed which deserve attention as well, for example, sculptural park “Legenda.” Having visited these places, one cannot but feel creative power of our people, sense the breath of history of the native land. And that is why hundreds and thousands of people come to Penza from different cities of Russia,” the governor noted.
He also expressed confidence that together, Penza residents will be able to tell the Russians about the sights of region.
