Penza, 19 April 2013. PenzaNews. People having alarm clock set for 12:00 am, will have free access on the territory of Penza zoo on “Earth Day,” Sunday, April 21. This was announced by the zoo administration to news agency “PenzaNews.”

“All types of alarm clocks are acceptable except those in mobile devices. Free pass is open from 10.30 to 11.50,” the agency interlocutor specified.

He added that the program of the environmental action will include a performance of children's dancing group, a drawing competition on asphalt, and other entertainments.

“Earth Day is held around the world in order to attract public attention to the environmental problems, especially of protected areas. One of the events to be held on Earth Day is “Wake up” action — at precisely 12.00 alarm clock of its participants across Russia — from Sakhalin to Kaliningrad — will ring out loud,” the representative of the zoo commented.

According to him, the zoo has already put out in the open air kangaroo, white and common peacocks, common myna, blackbird, common starling, gray and red-crowned cranes, bustards, chicken geese, storks, and pelicans.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, a major reconstruction of Penza zoo is held at the moment. However, the general contractor did not fulfill the amount of work under the contract, within the specified time — by December 25, 2012.

Penza zoo administration addressed to the residents of Penza asking them to spend more time at the zoo, despite the inconvenience created. The funds received from the ticket sale will be used to complete the construction work and landscaping. In addition, a primrose emblem will be put on all the cages, reconstruction of which will be completed by the staff of the institution.
