“The young female Lika came to Penza from Rostov zoo under an exchange program, and male Mickey arrived from the Great Moscow State Circus under the supervision of Zapashny Brothers. Penza zoo hopes to see the offspring of this couple,” the representative of the zoo administration told news agency “PenzaNews.”

He reminded that kangaroo is a very shy animal, so the visitors should keep quiet. Also, no feeding is allowed because kangaroos are quite picky in food, their diet is compiled by the zoo specialists,” he added.

Bennett's tree-kangaroo is found in coastal scrubs and xerophyte forests in Australia, Tasmania and other islands in Bass Strait.

Bennett’s kangaroo is 92-105 centimeters long, with a tail length of about 70-75cm. Adult animals may weigh up to 14-19kg.

The head is dark brown, the back is brown with a reddish tinge, chest and abdomen are white.
