“With summer season approaching, a large number of scooters and motorcycles appeared in the streets of Penza and the Penza region. The number of road accidents involving them is rapidly increasing. The worst thing is that the age of some scooter riders is often less than 16. These young drivers do not have driving experience, and often do not know the rules of the road, and due to their age, they do not realize what terrible accidents may happen,” he said.
Sergei Buylov also reminded that the approved age for scooter driving is 16 and above.
“If a parent bought their child a scooter, I insist they do not forget that this mean of transport is associated with risk reaching speed of over 50 km/h. Before the parent allows their child driving the vehicle, they need to make sure that the child knows the rules of the road and is able to respond to a complex, ever-changing situation,” the head of the regional department of traffic police stressed out.
