64 people hospitalized with tick bites in Penza region

Penza, 7 June 2013. PenzaNews. 64 people applied to medical institutions of the Penza region in the last seven days. This was stated by the press service of the Federal Service for Customer Supervision on Friday, June 7.

The department noted that over the same period last year, 150 people applied for the same reason.

“From the beginning of April, when the cases of tick bites were first registered, over 350 people turned to the regional hospitals. In Penza, in Olimpiyskaya Alleya, eight cases of tick bites were reported during this period, and none during the past week. Analysis results for tick-borne borreliosis in all cases were negative,” the department noted.
