The chairman of the standing committee on local management, monitoring of the department and officials of local management Alexei Shuvarin questioned the effectiveness of the , the creation of which, according to official figures, was worth at least 289 thousand rubles.
“Could not we simply create a section at the official website of Penza City Hall? Why was it necessary spending more money?” the official asked the deputy head of the city administration Sergei Simonov.
Responding to the question, the vice mayor found it difficult to give specific details as to what was actually achieved by the website dedicated specifically to the anniversary.
“The website aims at popularization of the city. Here one can learn about the construction sites, events devoted to the anniversary. The visitors can find here information on how to get to Penza,” he said.
Alexei Shuvarin could not hide his surprise at hearing that the website is attended by around 500 people daily.
“We should check this, though,” the member of the City Duma said.
