Penza, 11 June 2013. PenzaNews. The circus building which is currently under construction in Plekhanova St in Penza has no analogues in Russia. This was stated by the representative of Russian State Circus Igor Dykun during a visit to the construction site on Tuesday, June 11. “All the circus buildings in the country are typical, they were built 30 years ago. The circus building in Penza is the one of a new type, it will be the first one in Russia, a trial piece,” he said.

Igor Dykun noted that after the building and all of its features are tested by the artists, Penza circus will become a model for other constructions.
According to the mayor of Penza Roman Chernov, who also inspected the construction site, the circus will be put in operation in late 2014.
“We used the anniversary celebration as the reason to begin the construction of a new circus building. We realized from the start that the project would not be finished by September. But the 350th anniversary of the city allowed us to receive funds in the amount of 200 million rubles for this purpose,” he explained.
The head of the city administration expressed hope that the appearance of a new circus building will lead to creation of Penza circus troupe of its own to represent the region, touring outside the area.
