Penza, 12 June 2013. PenzaNews. The governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev congratulated the people of the region with Russia Day, which was celebrated on Wednesday, June 12.

“Today we honor our country — the country with a long history, unique spiritual heritage, glorious victories of Russian arms, and the great achievements of Russian science and culture,” he said.

The head of the region noted that present-day Russia is steadily moving towards consolidation of democratic reforms and building of a genuine civil society.

“The strategic objective which comes to the forefront is modernization of all spheres of life, strengthening international prestige of the country, improvement of living conditions and creation of opportunities for the younger generation. We know that we are strong as long as we are united. Power and dignity of the great country develops from our common achievements,” the governor said.

Vasily Bochkarev wished the residents of the Penza region health, well-being and productive work for the good of the native land and the entire Russia.
