Around 30 NCOs of Penza region fined for not submitting work reports

Penza, 5 July 2013. PenzaNews. 29 non-government organizations (NGO) registered in the Penza region were fined for over 80 thousand rubles for failing to comply with federal law regarding reporting on their activities to the regional Ministry of Justice at a stated time.

“This amount is required to be paid from the funds of non-government organizations which they collect in the form of membership fees and donations. Due to “forgetfulness” of NGO leaders this money will be used to cover the fines rather than spent to achieve purposes of social benefit for which every non-government organizations were created,” the deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Justice of the Penza region Elena Kanashkina noted.

At the same time, she said that the number of NGOs which submit work reports in time is growing each year.

“In 2011, there were 64% of the total, in 2012 — 72%, in 2013 — 84%. We are pleased with these statistics,” she said.

According to the department for non-government organizations of the regional department of the Ministry of Justice of Russia, among organizations subjected to the penalty is Non-profit Partnership “Penza regional center for promotion of innovations,” regional public organization “Penza “Business Club,” public organization “Maloserdobinskoe Zemlyachestvo,” regional union of producers of edible poultry eggs and other NGOs.
