“In just 1.5 hours, we distributed about 600 leaflets with basic human rights presented in accessible language,” said Alisa Sasina, the organizer of the marathon for peace and human rights, the part of which was the event in Penza.

She noted that such actions serve to remind people that they have rights.

“Marathon for peace and human rights will take place in more than 15 cities of Russia and CIS countries in the period from 2 to 31 July. Its main goal is to promote respect and tolerance among young people. The action is held for the fifth time and, according to our estimates, is the most ambitious initiative to tell youth about human rights in CIS history. It is expected that more than 100 thousand people will take part in it,” she said.

Alisa Sasina added that the total distance of the marathon would be 9 thousand kilometers.
