Penza, 9 July 2013. PenzaNews. The Penza and Kirov regions took 66th and 67th places in the communication rating of Russian regions in the leading English language media compiled by the analytical agency “Smyslographia” and the company Dow Jones as of 2012.

“The Penza region demonstrates a stable position in the rating — in 2011, it occupied 67th place. This is the result of a relatively small number of publications about the region in the Western media, as well as the fact that about half of the messages have negative connotation — serial killers, emergency situations, drought,” the director of analytical agency “Smyslographia” Anastasia Inal commented the results of the research.

She added that the Penza region collected 46 points, while the Sakhalin region occupying the top of the list — 155 points.
