Penza, 12 July 2013. PenzaNews. The ceremony of memorable franking of artistically marked post envelope with image of Penza Drama Theatre named after A. Lunacharsky, the release of which is connected with the 350th anniversary of the city, was held on Friday, July 12.

The event was attended by the deputy head of administration of Penza Sergei Simonov, the chairman of the regional branch of the Union of Philatelists of Russia Igor Shishkin, as well as the deputy director of the Federal Postal Service of Penza Tatiana Sofiyskaya.

“Four postage-stamps and two envelopes have already been printed for the anniversary of the city,” Tatiana Sofiyskaya noted turning to the guests of the ceremony.

According to her, the creation of envelopes and postcards with images of the native people and the sights of the Penza region promote the image of the region.

Postcards were franked with a new stamp with a picture of the coat of arms and the inscription “350 years/Penza” specially manufactured for the anniversary series.

It is planned that the envelopes and cards, franked with a special stamp, will fill in the pages of the Universal Postal directory and will become an attraction of the collection of philatelists and a memorable gift for all citizens of Penza.
