Penza, 16 July 2013. PenzaNews. 50 video surveillance systems will be installed in Penza as a part of the program “Safe City” by the end of the year. This was announced by the head of the city administration Roman Chernov during a meeting with the governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev on Monday, July 15.
“So far there is no specialized organization, which would be in charge of photo-and video recording. The equipment is registered in the department of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations of Penza, and we will continue the service based there. We managed to put in operation seven cameras. And currently we have 12 cameras to be repaired,” the mayor noted.
“Right now there is a problem of legal nature — not every place where the system is to be installed can be equipped with a separate electricity supply meter. This is due to the fact that the majority of the systems will be located on apartment buildings, and some homeowner communities refuse to install them,” the press service of the city administration quoted Roman Chernov.
