Penza, 26 July 2013. PenzaNews. The number of abortions in the Penza region decreased by 4,4% over the past six months of 2013 compared to the same period last year. This was reported by the head of the department of maternal and child health of the Ministry of Health of the region Marina Evstigneeva.

“During the national campaign “Give me life,” which is annually held with participation of the Ministry of Health of the Penza region and the charity fund for family, motherhood and childhood support “Pokrov,” they carry out a variety of competitions aimed at preventing and reducing the number of abortions, organize information and educational activities with participation of obstetricians and gynecologists,” the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Penza region told news agency “PenzaNews.”

Marina Evstigneeva informed that due to the ongoing work the number of abortions decreases annually.

“As a part of the action, the annual regional competition between obstetrician-gynecologists and antenatal clinics started in the Penza region on April 1. Based on the results of the contest “In Defense of Life,” the winners will be awarded in the categories “Antenatal clinic,” “Personal contribution,” and “Initiative,” the agency interlocutor added.
