Penza, 29 July 2013. PenzaNews. Thirteen experienced hikers from Penza to set off to Elbrus on Monday, July 29.

According to the press service of the City Hall, the expedition will consist of two stages.

“During the first one, the group will set up a base camp in the upper valley of the river Irikchat from which the hikers will climb up to passes Irik and Terskol. During the second stage they will travel from Terskol village to western and eastern Elbrus, where a flag devoted to the 350th anniversary of Penza will be raised,” the administration of the city commented.

The press service added that the hikers are planning to return to Penza on August 12.
