According to Alexander Neradko, the work must be done in time in the view of inconveniences caused to the airport users by the failures in the flight schedule.
In turn, governor Vasily Bochkarev noted that the reconstruction of the runway will allow the airport admitting the majority of aircrafts of Russian airlines which are currently not admitted to Penza due to a number of restrictions.
The director of the airport Yuri Oskolkov explained that during the reconstruction of the runway, they operate only flights to Moscow and regional air services.
“After the contractor starts working, the aircrafts will land on the ground runway,” he added.
