Presenting the book, the chairman of the Veterans’ Society of the Federal Security Service of the Penza region reserve lieutenant colonel Boris Puzakov noted that the book is unique because it contains the information which was closed until recently.
“Each generation of KGB servicemen and counterspies leaves a trail. However, often, it is impossible to talk about the events that happened. Some events remain confidential up to now. We described a period which is not largely discussed in the literature — the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. We can argue about that time. Some people praise it, others abuse it. But whatever the time, the counterintelligence is always there. We are independent of any trends, political views, we always have an enemy with whom we are in a struggle, because there are immutable values such as integrity of the state, defense, and we have no right not to work, even during the years of stagnation or “turbulent 90s,” he said.
Boris Puzakov added that all the co-authors of the book have high moral values.
“These are people of high honor and duty, which have given their life and professional experience to the most important thing that we have — the security of our state,” said the chairman of the Veterans’ Society of the Federal Security Service of the Penza region.
