Penza, 2 August 2013. PenzaNews. Over two thousand different publications were donated by the residents of the Penza region to the funds of cultural institutions as a part of a campaign “Bring a book to the library!” during the first six days of the campaign.

“These are historic and popular scientific books, the works of Russian classics, modern poetry and prose, as well as periodicals,” the representative of the regional library named after M. Lermontov told news agency “Penzaews.”

He added that some people brought several hundred publications.

“For example, Sergey Shvarev donated 952 books, and Tatiana Aksenova — 530,” the agency interlocutor noted.

He explained that the books will replenish the funds of the regional library, others will be placed on special shelves in the lobby where any library visitor will be able to pick them up for free, and the rest will be forwarded to the area libraries of the Penza region.

The campaign is on until August 31.
