Ilya Yegorov from Zarechny wins Presidential Scholarship to study in Germany

Penza, 7 August 2013. PenzaNews. Penza State University student Ilya Yegorov is among 40 people selected by the Ministry of Education of Russia, who will receive a scholarship of President of the Russian Federation and will be able to study in the best foreign universities for 10 months.

“As a part of a scientific group of PSU, Ilya Yegorov leads theoretical developments in quantum mechanics. The direction of their work is the local control of cancer cells with quantum dots. For his overseas internship, the student chose the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany where similar studies are conducted,” representative of Zarechny Office of Public Relations Maria Rodionova told news agency “PenzaNews.”

She added that Ilya Yegorov plans to earn Master’s degree and continue his work in Penza with the knowledge acquired.

“Two more students will be sent to study abroad at the expense of the Presidential grant. The approximate amount of remuneration for the entire period of training will be 20–24 thousand dollars,” the spokeswoman explained.
