Penza, 13 August 2013. PenzaNews. Management of the Penza airport should select additional destinations for new flights before the reconstruction of the runway. This opinion was expressed by the governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev during a site visit to assess the progress of construction and repair work on Tuesday, August 13.

“The general contractor – not without our help – organized the work. The presentation of the new runway of 2 km 800 meters will be not on September 10, as previously planned, but on September 4,” said the head of the region.

He reminded that the new runway would allow the airport to accommodate domestic and foreign planes including Boeing.

“Now we need to choose additional destinations – St. Petersburg, perhaps, Yekaterinburg, Kazan; in summer – Sochi and Gelendzhik. And if the airport is international – Turkey,” Vasily Bochkarev emphasized.
